DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (AA) – Three people were killed and 22 others, including police officers injured when a bomb-laden truck blew up near a police bus in southeastern Diyarbakir province Tuesday, unnamed police sources told Anadolu Agency.

The attack took place in Diyarbakir province’s central Baglar district, police sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media, said.

Security forces have launched an operation to nab PKK terrorists believed to be behind the incident.

PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July.

Since then, more than 430 security personnel have been martyred and over 3,800 PKK terrorists killed.
