BEIRUT (AA) – Qatar’s emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani will lead his country’s delegation to an economic development summit in Beirut on Sunday, according to a Lebanese presidential source.

“Sheikh Tamim told Lebanese President Michel Aoun that he will personally lead his country’s delegation to the summit,” the source told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Doha earlier said Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi and Finance Minister Ali Shareef Al Emadi would lead the Qatari delegation to the summit.

Qatar has yet to confirm the report.

Organized by the Arab League, most Arab states will send delegations at the ambassadorial level to the summit. Syria, whose Arab League membership has been suspended since 2011, and Libya will not attend the summit.
