Istanbul buries native son killed for $22 in New York

By Ali Cevahir Akturk</p> <p>NEW YORK, (AA) – A Turkish immigrant gas station manager who was was killed in Long Island earlier this week was buried Friday in his hometown of Istanbul.</p> <p>Cemal Dagdeviren, 59, was killed by a customer who did not want to pay a $22 bill. </p> <p>Dagdeviren lived in New York for decades with his wife and two children. </p> <p>&quot;My dad was really a hard worker,&quot; Dagdeviren's son told NBC New York. &quot;Everybody loved him in that community. He was there 20 years. People loved him.&quot;</p> <p>Police are asking anyone with information about the murder to contact authorities.</p> <p>
