BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan (AA) – Kyrgyzstan's president on Saturday praised a Turkish Nobel Prize in chemistry winner as “the most valuable representative” of not only the Turkic world, but all of humanity.

Meeting with visiting Nobel laureate Aziz Sancar, Sooronbay Jeenbekov said: “Positioning yourself as a representative of Turkic-speaking peoples makes a great contribution to the development of relations between Turkic-speaking states. We are proud of you.”

Sancar thanked the president for his warm welcome, saying that all people in Turkic-speaking states see Kyrgyzstan as their second motherland.

“I am glad that Kyrgyzstan pays close attention to human development and preserving peace, ” Sancar said.

Aziz Sancar, a biochemist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the United States, is Turkey’s second Nobel laureate, after novelist Orhan Pamuk.
