VAN, Turkey (AA) – At least five irregular migrants in a minibus were killed in a traffic accident in Turkey's eastern province of Van on Tuesday.
Gendarme sources said that the minibus fell along the shoulder of a road in Van, also injuring 16 other migrants.
Gendarmes, Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), and paramedics were dispatched to the scene.
The injured irregular migrants were taken to hospital by helicopter and ambulance.
The cause of the accident is as yet unknown.
