SIRNAK, Turkey (AA) – Four birds found injured in Turkey’s southeast took flight again on Friday after months of successful treatment and rehabilitation.
Two hawks, an eagle, and a kestrel were cared for at the Center of Treatment and Rehabilitation for Wild Animals at Sirnak University.
Orhan Kalay, an official at the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, told Anadolu Agency that the birds were released back into the wild after a four-month treatment and rehabilitation period.
He urged citizens to notify authorities whenever they come across any wild animal that is injured or in any sort of distress.
“It is of utmost importance that wild animals be reintegrated into their natural habitat after treatment,” Kalay said.
