WASHINGTON (AA) – A third woman came forward with sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Wednesday, saying she saw him spike drinks to sexually assault girls at parties.
Julie Swetnick signed a statement alleging she witnessed Kavanaugh and his colleague, Mark Judge, disorient girls at parties and then saw boys line up to wait for their “turn ” with the inebriated girl.
Swetnick also said in 1982 she became a victim of one of the “gang rapes. ” Although she did not explicitly mention Kavanaugh or Judge were offenders, she said they were present at the time of the incident.
She said Kavanaugh was an excessive drinker at parties and would engage in rough and aggressive behavior towards women.
Kavanaugh has denied the claims, saying they are completely false.
“This is ridiculous and from the Twilight Zone. I don't know who this is and this never happened, ” Kavanaugh said in a White House statement Wednesday.
Two other women have come forward to accuse Kavanaugh in the past week.
Christine Blasey Ford detailed a high school encounter three decades ago in which she said Kavanaugh forced her into a room during a party and began groping and attempted to undress her.
Kavanaugh, Ford said, put his hand over her mouth to silence her after she yelled, prompting her to fear for her life.
“I thought he might inadvertently kill me, ” she said in an interview with the Washington Post. “He was trying to attack me and remove my clothing.”
Another accuser, Deborah Ramirez, came forward to say Kavanaugh exposed himself to her during their freshman year at Yale University.
Democrats have taken this opportunity to demand U.S. President Donald Trump withdraw Kavanaugh's nomination, or re-open an investigation into the allegations.
Trump has stood behind his Supreme Court nominee amid the allegations, saying he is looking forward to a complete nomination process.
“I am with judge Kavanaugh and I look forward to a vote, ” Trump told reporters at the UN's New York headquarters where he is attending the organization’s annual General Assembly meetings.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh's nomination Friday.
