Turkish President Erdogan arrives in Moldovan capital

CHISINAU, Moldova (AA) – Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday arrived in Moldova's capital Chisinau on his two-day official visit.

The president and the First Lady Emine Erdogan were welcomed by their respective Moldovan counterparts Igor Dodon and Galina Dodon at the Chisinau airport.

Erdogan is accompanied by Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Education Minister Ziya Selcuk, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Cahit Turhan and Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu.

During his official visit, Erdogan will meet Dodon and Prime Minister Pavel Filip and is due to be received by Irina Vlah, president of Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Gagauz-Gokoguz Yeri).

The meetings will see discussions on political, economic and security relations along with mutual regional and international issues, and terrorism.

Erdogan will also attend a business forum and is expected to inaugurate one of the pre-schools that was supported by Turkey's Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
