Turkish police seize over 150 kg of heroin

VAN, Turkey (AA) – Turkish police seized more than 150 kilograms of heroin on Sunday.

In eastern Van province, over 81 kg of heroin were seized in a plastic jerrycan in Baskale district, the police directorate said in a statement.

Separately, in Tusba district, police confiscated nearly 32 kg of heroin in a basement and arrested three suspects for drug trafficking.

In southeastern Sirnak province, police seized 25 kg of heroin in Silopi district.

The drugs were confiscated from a car at Habur Border Gate. Three people, including the driver, were remanded into custody.

Following interrogation from the suspects, police seized another 17 kg of heroin from a car.
