Turkish police seize heroin hidden in pita bread

VAN, Turkey (AA) – Turkish police have seized 26 kilograms of heroin hidden in pita bread in the eastern Van province, local police announced on Friday.

The heroin was discovered during a search of a cargo transfer center in the Tusba district, said a police statement.

The heroin was found in packets which were set to be sent to Istanbul, the statement said.

It added that two suspects were arrested for suspected drug trafficking.
