MARIB, Yemen (AA) – A Turkish humanitarian group has provided 165 wheelchairs to aid disabled people and civilians wounded by Yemen’s ongoing war.

The wheelchairs donated by Istanbul-based IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation were distributed in the eastern city of Marib by Yemen’s Association for Social Development, according to the Health Information Center in Marib.

The center added that the Turkish NGO is also set to soon donate 165 more wheelchairs plus 330 crutches.

Turkish institutions and NGOs such as the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency,Turkish Red Crescent, Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, and the IHH are continuing to provide humanitarian aid to Yemen amid the ongoing conflict.

Yemen has been wracked by war since 2014, when Shia Houthi rebels overran much of the country, including the capital Sanaa, forcing the Saudi-backed government to flee to Riyadh.
