Turkish, Kosovar central banks agree to deepen ties

BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) – The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) and the Central Bank of Kosovo (BQK) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation and ties.

According to a written statement by BQK, CBRT chairman Murat Cetinkaya and his Kosovar counterpart Fehmi Mehmeti inked the memorandum during the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank held in Indonesia.

As part of the memorandum, the two institutions aim to deepen the relationship and strengthen the exchange of information and cooperation in the field of central banking.

The statement also said the parties agreed to take initiatives to enhance business dialogue at expert level as well as to exchange information and expertise.

“Exchanges can be made in the form of technical advice, temporary staff movements, trainings, seminars, workshops, expert visits, research visits or research activities in mutually agreed areas, ” it added.

It also highlighted the satisfaction of Mehmeti for increasing the cooperation with the CBRT.
