ANKARA (AA) – Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will visit Lao People’s Democratic Republic on Wednesday and Thursday.
"Minister Cavusoglu’s visit will be the first visit to Laos from Turkey at foreign ministers level," according to a statement from Turkey's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
Cavusoglu will meet his Laotian counterpart Saleumxay Kommasith and they will discuss the bilateral relations and prospects to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The ministers will also exchange views on regional and international developments.
Cavusoglu will also be received by Laotian Prime Minister PDR Thongloun Sisoulith, according to the statement.
Turkey established diplomatic relations with Laos in 1958 and opened an embassy in Vientiane on Dec. 27, 2017.
