Turkish, Ethiopian aid agencies agree to cooperate

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AA) – The Turkish Red Crescent and the Ethiopian Red Cross have decided to cooperate in various areas, including immigration and disaster relief, according to the Turkish group's head.

The comments came late Friday, after Red Crescent officials met in Addis Ababa, capital of the Horn of Africa nation, with Abera Tola, head of the Ethiopian Red Cross.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Turkish Red Crescent Deputy Chairman Naci Yorulmaz said: “We agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on a roadmap and framework for cooperation between the two agencies. ”

The Turkish officials were also received by Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome Wirtu at the presidential complex.

Wirtu praised the Red Crescent's work in Syria, Yorulmaz said.
