Turkish customs confiscate 25 kg of heroin

ANKARA (AA) – A total of 25 kilograms (55 pounds) of heroin was seized at the Turkish-Iranian border by Turkish customs, according to an official statement.

A truck coming from Iran to Turkey suspected of drug trafficking was searched at the Gurbulak Customs Gate, the Turkish Trade Ministry said on Sunday.

During the search, the heroin, hidden under the bed in the driver's cab, was seized.

An investigation regarding the incident is ongoing, the statement added.
