Turkish, Cuban politicians hold meeting

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's deputy parliament speaker met a Cuban politician on Friday.

During the meeting Levent Gok said Turkey has always taken Cuba's side against U.S. sanctions on the country.

Gok recalled that Turkey backed lifting of sanctions on Cuba in the UN General Assembly.

Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera, deputy head of the Cuban Communist Party's central committee, expressed the desire to improve relations with Turkey.

Turkey is against embargoes on Cuba and favors dialogue to resolve problems between countries.
