Turkish athlete wins gold in barbell snatch

By Mutlu Demirtastan</p> <p>ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey’s Daniyar Ismayilov won a gold medal Monday at the European Weightlifting Championships in Batumi, Georgia.</p> <p>On the third day of the championships, Ismayilov, competing in the men's 67 kilogram event, won gold in the barbell snatch by lifting 147 kg.</p> <p>However, he failed three times in the clean and jerk.</p> <p>The championships, which are being represented by 20 Turkish athletes, will end on April 13.</p> <p>*Writing by Dilara Hamit
