Turkish Airlines adds Stockholm-Sabiha Gokcen route

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AA) – Turkey’s flagship carrier Turkish Airlines has started flights from Sweden’s capital Stockholm to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport.

The Stockholm (ARN)-Istanbul (SAW) flights will be offered daily.

At a ceremony to inaugurate the flights, Turkish Airlines’ Stockholm head Omer Faruk Sonmez said the Stockholm-Sabiha Gokcen route will be the airlines’ fourth line to Sweden.

“We have been offering flights to Sweden from Istanbul three times a day since October 2012, and this route adds the fourth one,” he said.

Sonmez said the flights were frequently requested by people living in Bursa, Kocaeli, and cities in Turkey’s Marmara region.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Turkish Ambassador in Stockholm Kaya Turkmen said the flights help cement the “strong relationship” between Sweden and Turkey.
