ANKARA (AA) – The confidence in Turkey’s economy fell by 4.8 percent month-on-month in October, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) revealed on Wednesday.

The economic confidence index reached 67.5 points this month, down from 71 points in September, TurkStat said in a report.

“This decrease in economic confidence index stemmed from the decreases in consumer, services and retail trade confidence indices, ” the report said.

The consumer confidence index saw a slide of 3.4 percent on a monthly basis to 57.3 in October.

Services and retail trade confidence indices followed with 4.7 and 1.8 percent declines, respectively.

Sub-indexes for real sector and construction confidence saw a monthly rise in October.

In October, the real sector confidence index climbed 0.8 percent month-on month to 91.1 points, while the construction confidence index rose 2.3 percent to 58.7 points during the same period.
