ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day up 0.57 percent to close at 94,886.87 points on Tuesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 539.21 points from Monday's close of 94,347.66 points, while it started the day at 94,735.52 points.
The USD/TRY exchange rate climbed to 6.3740 as of 5 p.m. local time (1400GMT) Tuesday, up from Monday's close of 6.2860.
By market close, the euro/Turkish lira rate also rose to 7.4590, compared with 7.3550 at the previous close.
One British pound traded for 8.4100 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 8.2890 at Monday's close.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, one ounce of gold traded for $1,201.50 by market close on Tuesday, up from $1,197.50 at the previous close.
As of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT), the price of Brent oil stood at $79.16 per barrel — hovering between $77.50 and $79.72 during the day — climbing from around $66 at the beginning of 2018.
