ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index climbed 0.45% to close at 98,783.36 points on Friday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 98,963.19 points, gaining 446.51 points from the previous close of 98,336.85 points.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.5980 at close, versus Thursday's close of 5.5970.
The euro/lira rate also rose slightly to 6.2910 at Friday's close, versus 6.2890 at the previous close.
One British pound traded for 7.2920 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY rate was 7.3630 at the close on Thursday.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold reached $1,288.70 by market close, up from 1,285.05 at the previous close.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $69.75 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Friday.
