ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.10 percent or 106.53 points to open at 104,247.57 points Thursday.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 0.90 percent to close the day at 104,141.04 points with a daily trading volume of 7.1 billion Turkish liras (some $1.3 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.3260 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared to 5.2950 at the last close.
The euro/lira exchange rate was 6.0660, versus 6.0320 at the previous close. One British pound was exchanged for 7.0970 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY rate was 7.0640 by market close on Wednesday.
The price of Brent oil was around $63.31 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Thursday.
