Turkey’s aid agency renovates school in Ukraine

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s state-run aid agency has renovated a school in Ukraine.

In a statement by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the school was renovated in the town of Vinnytsia, Pohrebyshche.

The opening ceremony of the school was attended by Zinayida Butenko, head of Pohrebyshche’s Education Department, Petro Korotun, the director general of the school, and Haci Bayram Bolat, TIKA’s program coordinator in Ukraine.

“You honored our region with your visit. The renovation of the school contributes hugely to our education sector, ” Butenko said.

Bolat, for his part, expressed his pleasure over the success of the project and said: “We have strengthened the infrastructure of the school […] I have seen a bright future of Ukraine in the happy and loving eyes of the children. ”

The school was renovated for the first time in 12 years. It will accommodate 360 students, 40 teachers and 24 staffers.

Korotun said the children and teachers will have a better environment in the school.
