Turkey welcomes New Zealand’s updated terror list

By Jeyhun Aliyev</p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – Turkey on Friday welcomed New Zealand’s move to keep PKK terrorist group in its updated terrorist organizations list. </p> <p>&quot;We welcome that the PKK, along with its other titles, such as KCK and KONGRA-GEL, continues to be designated in the updated terrorist organizations list that New Zealand issued today, amongst other terrorist organizations,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.</p> <p>The ministry emphasized the importance of cooperation in fighting the terrorism, as well as countering all terrorist organizations without making any distinction amongst them.</p> <p>Turkey also voiced hope that New Zealand and other partners of Turkey will continue the &quot;increased support&quot; in fight against the PKK terrorists.</p> <p>In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women and children.
