Turkey: More than 7M cannabis roots seized

BINGOL, Turkey (AA) – Turkish security forces seized over 7 million cannabis roots in the country’s east over the last two weeks, local authorities announced on Monday.

Provincial gendarmerie seized 7.147 million cannabis sativa roots in the Genc district of Bingol province over the past 15 days, according to a statement issued by the provincial governor's office.

Moreover, 105 kilograms of cannabis, a Kalashnikov infantry rifle and a pistol were also seized.

Some eight suspects were also detained in the operations in the eastern Bingol province.
