Turkey: More families join anti-YPG/PKK protest

DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (AA) – Another family on Friday joined a sit-in against the YPG/PKK terror group in southeastern Turkey which has entered Day 319.

Ali Ozkan joined the protest outside the office of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), a political party accused by the government of having links to the terrorist organization YPG/PKK.

Ozkan said that his 21-year-old sister was kidnapped in the eastern Mus province seven years ago. He added that his sister was deceived by YPG/PKK terrorists at her university.

"We know that the HDP cooperates with the PKK and deceived my sister and took her to the mountains," he said, calling on her to surrender to security forces.

“Terrorism has no religion, faith or race. We could not receive any news from her for seven years. We missed her voice,” he added.

Another mother, Aynur Panay said she joined the protest for her son Emrah who was kidnapped by PKK terrorists.

"I will not leave without my son. HDP took my son. Bring him back,” Panay said.

The protest started last September outside the offices of HDP in Diyarbakir.

Since then, the number of families protesting in front of the building has been rising.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU — has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is the PKK's Syrian offshoot.
