MALATYA, Turkey (AA) – Turkish security forces successfully foiled planned attacks of terrorist Daesh/ISIS organization in February with its active and resolute struggle.
To prevent further attacks of Daesh/ISIS terrorists, Turkish security forces conducted numerous terror operations across the country.
According to Anadolu Agency’s compiled data, 89 suspects including the so-called decision makers of the terrorist organization, were arrested in February. Organizational documents were also confiscated during the operations.

In an operation in central Anatolian province of Kirsehir, one of the seven relatives to Daesh/ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was taken into custody, while others were either departed or held in immigration office.
In northwestern Sakarya province, one Daesh/ISIS terrorist who confessed claiming bomb attacks in Iraq was taken into custody.
Two out of four Daesh/ISIS suspects were arrested in central Osmaniye and southeastern Gaziantep provinces over being members of the terrorist organization and making terror propaganda, and they were taken into custody.
In the capital Ankara, three suspects affiliated with the Daesh/ISIS terror group were arrested.
Three Syrian siblings were arrested in anti-Daesh operations in the central Kayseri province.
Security forces seized 13 Daesh/ISIS suspects, including 10 foreign nationals, in the Turkish metropolis Istanbul.
Separately, 49 suspects, including foreign nationals, were arrested in the operations in Samsun, Osmaniye, Kayseri, Kahramanmaras, Sakarya, Kocaeli, Corum provinces and the capital Ankara.

On Feb. 18, a Daesh/ISIS terrorist identified as Y.A.A., codenamed Abu Taqi Al-Shami, was captured in the western Bursa province in an anti-terror operation.
Y.A.A., who is from Deir ez-Zour in Syria, was often seen in execution videos posted by Daesh/ISIS.
In the central Osmaniye province, a Syrian national so-called senior Daesh/ISIS operative, identified as I.E., who was responsible for the terror group’s training camps, was arrested.
Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize Daesh/ISIS as a terror group in 2013, as soon as it emerged.
The country has since been attacked by Daesh/ISIS terrorists numerous times, including 10 suicide bombings, seven bombings, and four armed attacks which killed 315 people and injured hundreds.
In response, Turkey launched military and police operations at home and abroad to prevent further terror attacks.
