EDIRNE, Turkey (AA) – Three suspects linked to Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) were remanded in custody in Turkey’s western Edirne province, security sources said Wednesday.

Turkish police had arrested four FETO-linked suspects from a house, where they were planning to cross to Greece through illegal means, said the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspects and three alleged organizers of the human smuggling were produced before to the court, which released one suspect and remanded others in custody.

The FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016 in Turkey, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
