Trabzonspor to host Basaksehir in Super Lig clash

By Emre Asikci

ISTANBUL (AA) – Trabzonspor will host reigning champions Medipol Basaksehir on Saturday on matchday five of the Turkish Super Lig.

The highly anticipated game will kick off at 7 p.m. local time (1600GMT) at the Senol Gunes Stadium.

Trabzonspor have not won in 10 games against Basaksehir, with their last success being a 3-2 victory back in 2014-15.

In their 24 overall clashes, Trabzonspor have won nine games, Basaksehir came out on top in seven, and eight have ended in a draw.

Both clubs have had a tough start to the season and will be looking to gain some much-needed momentum.

Trabzonspor sit in 12th spot with just one victory and five points, while winless Basaksehir are at the bottom of the table.

Trabzonspor will be without midfielder Anders Trondsen, who is sidelined due to a cruciate ligament rupture.

For Basaksehir, the injured duo of Nacer Chadli and Okechukwu Azubuike will not be available for Saturday’s game.
