Terror suspect killed in southeast Turkey

MARDIN, Turkey (AA) – A suspected PKK terrorist was killed in Turkey’s southeastern Mardin province on Monday, a security official said.

The suspect was killed in Nusaybin, which lies on the border with Syria, the official said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media. Medical equipment and a handgun were seized during a search.

Counter-terrorism operations were launched on Feb. 11 in the Nusaybin, Omerli and Artuklu districts.

According to the Interior Ministry, 10 terrorists have been killed since Feb. 13.
