SANLIURFA, Turkey (AA) – Syrian Kurds, who took refuge in Turkey after fleeing the violence inside their country due to the threats and inhumane acts of the YPG/PKK terror group, dream of returning home as soon as possible.

Turkey’s southeastern Sanliurfa province hosts more than 500,000 migrants and 48,000 students receive education there. Students in Turkey are happy to mark report card day on Friday.

Qusay Hassan, a Kurdish student at a temporary education center in the Haliliye district, told Anadolu Agency that he and his family could not return their home in the Hasakah province.

Hasan said, “I don’t feel like an outsider in Turkey. I can communicate in Kurdish, Arabic and Turkish. I hope conflict in Syria ends soon and we could go back to our homes “.

Ayser Bozan, 11, another Kurdish student who fled to Turkey from Syria’s Ayn al-Arab (Kobani), said:

“The people in Turkey are very kind to us, however, we long for our homeland. We will return to Kobani if hard times come to an end there. Turkey is a nice place, but there's no place like home. ”

Turkey, which hosts more Syrians than any other country in the world, has been offering all kinds of support to war-torn families regardless of their ethnicity, religion or sect since the start of the civil war in Syria.

The children of migrant families are happy to receive education in a secure environment.

Turkey has spent more than $32 billion from its own national resources for helping and sheltering refugees since 2011.
