DOHA, Qatar (AA) – The lead actor of a popular Turkish TV series met fans in the Qatari capital on Wednesday.
Appearing as Ertugrul Ghazi — 13th century father of the founder of the Ottoman Empire — in the series “Resurrection: Ertugrul “, Engin Altan Duzyatan attended the Ajyal Film Festival in Doha.
Duzyatan had photographs taken with his fans in a local Turkish restaurant.
“We are very happy to see Ertugrul, ” said Qatari Ahmed Abdullah, adding that the series spoke to the “ideas and conscience ” of Qataris.
Organized by the Doha Film Institute, the festival is planned to continue till Dec. 3.
First aired in December 2014 on Turkey’s state-run broadcaster TRT, “Resurrection: Ertugrul ” has gathered wide followers inside Turkey, becoming the channel's most popular TV series to date.
