Sergeant wounded in bomb attack in southeast Turkey

ADIYAMAN, Turkey (AA) – A Turkish soldier was wounded Tuesday when PKK terrorists bombed a military vehicle in southeastern Adiyaman province.

The terrorists set fire to a marble quarry site in Kas village and then targeted a vehicle carrying gendarmerie units as they arrived in the area to investigate the incident.

A sergeant was wounded and was rushed to Adiyaman University Training and Research Hospital.

Security forces launched an operation to nab the terrorists.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU. In its terror campaign against Turkey, which has lasted for more than three decades, over 40,000 people have been killed, including women and children.
