MOSCOW (AA) – Tens of thousands of Russians flocked to “Turkey Festival” held in the Russian capital of Moscow on Sunday.

The festival hosted various cultural, sports and tourism activities on its second day amid pleasant weather.

Turkish cities including popular holiday city of Antalya — which Russians mostly prefer to go — were introduced during the festival.

Traditional handicrafts and Turkish cuisine also grabbed the attention of visitors. Russian visitors watched Turkish Janissary band’s show with interest.

Huseyin Diroz, Turkey’s ambassador to Moscow, praised the “well-attended” festival, saying that more than 150,000 people attended the event last year.

“We expect much more people this year,” Diroz said.
