Pilots killed as trainer jet crashes in Turkey’s south

ANTALYA, Turkey (AA) – A Turkish trainer jet on Tuesday crashed in the Mediterranean province of Antalya, killing both the pilots.

Governor of Antalya Munir Karaloglu told Anadolu Agency that a training plane crashed in Manavgat district of Antalya and the plane's pilot Serkan Dilci and co-pilot got killed in the accident.

According to the governor's office, a civil aviation firm's Cessna plane crashed at 3.30 p.m. local time (1230GMT).

Meanwhile, Mustafa Yigit, district governor of Manavgat, told the media they were unable to immediately give technical information about the cause of this crash.

Erhan Coskun, an eyewitness, said they called the emergency services, following the crash.
