HEBRON, Palestine (AA) – Israeli troops on Monday killed a Palestinian youth near the occupied West Bank city of Hebron (Al-Khalil), according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In a statement, the ministry said a young Palestinian man — who the ministry did not identify — had been shot dead near Hebron’s Jewish-only Kiryat Arba settlement.

According to the ministry, Israeli troops prevented Palestinian emergency workers from providing the young man with treatment after he had been shot.

Israeli media outlets, meanwhile, including Hebrew-language daily Yedioth Ahronoth, claimed that the young man had been killed after attempting to stab an Israeli soldier.

Earlier the same day, at least 13 Palestinians were affected by teargas during clashes with Israeli forces after the latter razed four Palestinian homes near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
