GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian youth was martyred in a fresh Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry on Tuesday.

Another Palestinian was injured in the strike that targeted a farmland in the northern Gaza Strip, ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said in a statement.

The Israeli army, meanwhile, said the attack targeted a member of a Palestinian cell launching incendiary balloons into Israel.

On Monday, four Palestinians were martyred in renewed Israeli attacks in Gaza following rocket fire from the seaside territory. The Israeli army said more than 20 people were injured by rocket fire from Gaza.

Monday’s attacks came one day after seven Palestinians and an Israeli soldier were killed in an undercover Israeli operation in the blockaded enclave.

Since March, more than 200 Palestinians have been martyred and thousands more injured by Israeli army fire during protests demanding the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their ancestral home in what is now Israel.
