Palestine adopts sunbird as emblem for exported goods

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – The Palestinian government on Tuesday announced plans to adopt the Palestine sunbird as its logo for the promotion of exported products.

In 2015, the government officially adopted the bird as the “national bird” for the State of Palestine.

An orange-tufted sunbird indigenous to the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa, the Palestine sunbird (Cinnyris Osea) is the only bird that carries Palestine’s name.

Palestine exports a number of raw materials and finished products, including gypsum, cement, wood, vegetables, furniture and footwear.
