Pakistani PM condemns Sri Lanka bombings in phone call

KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesine on Wednesday to offer his condolences over the Easter Sunday terror attacks which killed 359 people.

Khan reiterated his country's offer of assistance to Sri Lanka toward counter-terrorism measures, said a statement from the prime minister house.

“Being the worst sufferers of terrorism, we can feel the pain of our Sri Lankan brethren. Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and will continue to provide every possible support for elimination of this menace, ” he said.

On Easter Sunday, eight explosions targeted different locations in and outside Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.

The bombings hit churches in Kochchikade, Negombo and Batticaloa cities, as well as Kingsbury, Cinnamon Grand, and Shangri La hotels in Colombo.
