Over 51 kg of heroin seized in southern Turkey

ADANA, Turkey (AA) – Over 51 kilograms of heroin were seized and two suspects were arrested in southern Turkey, a security source said on Saturday.

A total of 51.37 kilograms (113 pounds) of heroin were found hidden in construction equipment on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep highway, said the source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

A sniffer dog helped recover the narcotics, the source added.

Police also arrested two suspects, identified only by initials S.S. and E.U., it said.
