ANKARA (AA) – To "ease pressure" on the fixtures in the Emirates FA Cup, there will be no replay matches during the 2019-2020 season, the English Football Federation announced Thursday.

''In order to assist in easing pressure on the football schedule, there will be no replays for the 2020-21 season,'' said the FA.

''After two seasons of record levels of prize funds, the Emirates FA Cup prize fund has returned back in line with 2017-18 levels due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,'' it added.

The new season in the Emirates FA Cup is set to start in a little over two weeks, on Sept. 1.

The final match is due to be played on May 15, 2021.
