Nigeria reports 665 new COVID-19 cases

ANKARA (AA) – Nigeria has reported 655 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, up from 571 reported the previous day.

The country also registered 11 deaths from the novel coronavirus over the past day, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said in its latest update on Wednesday night.

The total number of infections Nigeria reached 153,842, including 1,885 deaths and 130,818 recoveries.

Nearly 1.49 million tests have been conducted in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

On Wednesday, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, director-general of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHDA), announced the country “will soon begin the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine.”
