ANKARA (AA) – Security forces neutralized 68 wanted so-called senior executives of YPG/PKK/KCK terror groups during nationwide and overseas operations since Jan. 1.

Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized ” in their statements to imply the terrorists in question either surrendered, were killed or captured.

According to Turkish security forces' data on anti-terror operations held between Jan. 1 and Sept. 8, the terror group's 68 wanted so-called executives, including 12 who were mentioned in the red category, were neutralized.

The Interior Ministry's wanted list is divided into five color-coded categories, with red as the most wanted, followed by blue, green, orange and gray.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
