N.Macedonia, Turkey seek to boost ties at all levels

BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) – North Macedonia and Turkey seek to boost cooperation at all levels, a statement from the North Macedonian Presidency said on Monday.

Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop met North Macedonia's President Stevo Pendarovski on Monday in the capital Skopje.

During the meeting, Sentop and Pendarovski exchanged views about cooperation opportunities at all levels between Turkey-North Macedonia with the spirit of a strong friendly partnership.

Pendarovski said that the two countries contribute to the stability and the security in the region with their NATO alliance.

Sentop and Pendarovski expressed their expectation for deepening of bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interests, including inter-parliamentary cooperation.

At the meeting, views and information were exchanged about the current situation in both countries and the general situation in the region regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

Pendarovski also expressed his gratitude for Turkey's supports to North Macedonia and emphasized that solidarity, cooperation, and mutual support of states are an important precondition for successfully dealing with the consequences of the pandemic.

Sentop arrived in North Macedonia to attend Turkish Language Day celebrations. He also met his counterpart Talat Xhaferi and Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.

The Turkish speaker also inaugurated the exhibition titled The Historical Adventure of Turkish Archery, organized by Turkey's Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) and Archers Foundation.
