ANKARA (AA) – Turkish main opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu has taken a stand against a military coup attempt in Turkey.
“This country was wracked with coups. We do not want to go through the same troubles,” Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kilicdaroglu said early Saturday.
In a written statement, Kilicdaroglu said the CHP is affiliated to the national will that is essential to parliamentary democracy.
“We completely preserve our faith while laying claim to our republic and democracy,” he said.
