Konyaspor stun Besiktas 4-1 in Turkish Super Lig

ANKARA (AA) – Ittifak Holding Konyaspor hammered Istanbul's Besiktas 4-1 Sunday in the Turkish Super Lig.

Georgian forward Levan Shengelia scored the opening goal for Konyaspor in the 28th minute with a header.

Konyaspor doubled the lead at home in the 63rd minute as Ukrainian forward Artem Kravets' shot from a narrow angle to get past Besiktas goalkeeper Ersin Destanoglu.

In the 78th minute, Konyaspor made it 3-0. Kravets took advantage of the mistake made by Besiktas's Croatian defender Domagoj Vida.

Kravets intercepted the ball to run towards Besiktas’s penalty area. Meanwhile Besiktas goalkeeper Destanoglu left the net to narrow the opponents’ angle.

However Kravets passed the ball to Shengelia, and the Georgian player put the ball into Besiktas net.

In the 83rd minute of the match, Vida fouled Farouk Miya in the penalty area as Konyaspor was awarded a penalty kick.

Kravets successfully converted the penalty to make the score 4-0 for Konyaspor.

Near the end of the match, Besiktas's Turkish winger Gokhan Tore entered the opponent's penalty area to make a vicious strike on goal.

Besiktas narrowed the gap to three, 1-4.

But Konyaspor secured the 4-1 lead to win the match. This was an unexpected loss for Besiktas.
