GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – Israeli army forces arrested two Palestinians while attempting to cross a security fence on border with the Gaza Strip, according to the Israeli military.

In a Twitter post, the army said one of the Palestinians was armed with a knife.

“Our troops apprehended them and transferred them to security forces for further questioning,” it added.

There was no comment from Palestinian authorities in the Gaza Strip on the report.

In recent months, the Israeli army announced detaining many Palestinians who it said were trying to cross the fence of the Gaza Strip, which has been reeling under an 11-year Israeli blockade since 2007.
