Global flour sector gathers in Turkish resort Antalya

ANTALYA, Turkey (AA) – The 15th Turkish Flour Industrialists' Federation (TFIF) International Congress and Exhibition started in the southern resort city of Antalya on Friday.

The two day event gathers national and international flour-based industrialists under the theme of “Global Trade Wheat and Licensed Warehousing “.

Hosting nearly 1,000 delegates from the sector, the event aims to deepen trade ties for existing markets while establishing new ties.

Turkey is the world's top flour exporter over the last six years. The country's flour exports in 2018 reached to 3.5 million tons worth $1.1 billion, according to TFIF data.

In March, TFIF took the helm of the Eurasia region administration of the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM), which manages $55 billion of the total world wheat market ($180 billion) and $2.5 billion of all flour trade in the world ($5 billion).
