Formula 1 fever to continue in Mexico over weekend

ISTANBUL (AA) – The 19th race of the Grand Prix in 2018 Formula 1 World Championship will take place in Mexico over the weekend.

The qualifying round will be held in the capital Mexico City on Saturday, and the race will start on Sunday at 1810GMT.

The competition will be held at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, a motor racing track of 4,304 kilometers (2,674 miles) in length, comprising 71 laps.

The leader of the season, Mercedes' British driver Lewis Hamilton won nine races, while Ferrari's German driver Sebastian Vettel was victorious in five races.

Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull-TAG Heuer team beat his opponents in two races and Dutch Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen ranked first in one race.

Lewis Hamilton leads Sebastian Vettel by 70 points in the championship.

Three races are left in 2018 Formula 1 season, including Sunday's Mexico Grand Prix.

To be crowned champion for fifth time in his career, Hamilton needs to finish among the top seven or Vettel to lose the race in Mexico.
