Football: Results in top 5 European leagues

ANKARA (AA) – After the latest games in top five European leagues over the weekend, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Lille are in the top positions in their respective leagues.

In Italy's Serie A, Inter Milan sealed a 1-0 narrow win against Verona to consolidate their lead over second-place Atalanta who hammered Bologna 5-0.

Juventus dropped two more points after a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina.

Inter Milan remained the top of the Serie A standings with 79 points, as Atalanta have 68 points and AC Milan have 66 points who have a game in hand.

– Leaders Manchester City lift 4th successive League Cup

Manchester United were held to a 0-0 draw by Leeds United in the English Premier League, while leaders Manchester City defeated Tottenham 1-0 at Wembley to lift the fourth successive League Cup this weekend.

Chelsea beat West Ham United 1-0 to gain a critical win in a battle for a Champions League spot.

Manchester City top the Premier League with 77 points, followed by Manchester United with 67 points and Leicester City with 59 points.

– Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid drop points in La Liga

Spain's La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao, while second-place Real Madrid missed a chance to level points with Atletico Madrid after a 0-0 draw with Real Betis.

Barcelona earned a 2-1 win against Villareal which collected 71 points with a game in hand.

Atletico Madrid are top of the league with 73 points, while Real Madrid have 71.

– Lille’s comeback win over Olympique Lyon

Lille secured a comeback 3-2 win against Olympique Lyon to be at the top of the France's Ligue 1 as Turkish forward Burak Yilmaz led his side to victory with two goals and an assist.

In a relentless title race, Lille currently lead Ligue 1 with 73 points, followed by Paris Saint-Germain who increased their points to 72 points after beating Metz 3-1.

Monaco are in the third position with 71 points, followed by Lyon with 67 points.

– Bayern Munich miss chance to lift Bundesliga title

Germany's Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich suffered an unexpected 2-1 loss to Mainz 05.

With 71 points, Bayern are still seven points clear at top of Bundesliga, while second-place RB Leipzig now have 64 points after they defeated Stuttgart 2-0.

Wolfsburg are in the third place with 57 points.
